Which Courses are approved by the Church?
Our Irish bishops set high standards for pre-marriage courses.
To be approved as preparing couples for sacramental marriage,
all courses must meet these strict new criteria...

Does Together.ie meet the criteria?
Since we began it in 1984, our course has enjoyed wide respect,
at home and abroad, as preparing for sacramental
marriage.
We seek to meet the criteria, within the limits of a one-day course.
When discussing courses, please show this page to your priest .
Ask how he interprets the criteria for pre-marriage courses.

Contacting the episcopal committee
Chairman of the committee charged with promoting the quality of
Catholic pre-marriage courses, and assessing how far the
episcopal guidelines are enshrined in particular courses is
Fr. Muredach Tuffy (Newman Institute, Ballina, Co Mayo).
As this committee is to assess, in light of the agreed criteria,
any pre-marriage course requesting diocesan approval,
they can indicate which courses are so far
approved for any given diocese.
